Wix is a website in which you're able to present your work in a website format. One advantage of Wix is that there's a range of templates to choose from to make your site feel more individual and personal. A disadvantage of Wix is that it doesn't sync well with Google and is ranked lowly as a website and sites created with Wix are not advertised well.
Wordpress uses a more simple and traditional format to create their websites. Wordpress also has a lot of templates ready for use, however, due to it being more traditional you're less likely to have an individual looking website.

Final Photography - Evaluation
One photographer I researched into is the Wildlife and Nature photographer Daniel Walker. His work gave me the idea to work on something to do with the environment as it's something extremely overlooked and ignored.
Another photographer I looked into is Saeed Mohammadzadeh. His picture won him the environmental photographer of 2018 award and it gave me the idea to potentially work around something to do with water pollution.
With cameras I have learnt what aperture and shutter speed changes in an image and which f stop goes with which shutter speed.
My creative intention with my final project was to make people aware of the pollution and fly tipping occurring in the local area. Daniel Walker's photography gave me the idea to not just focus on fly tipping because that's a very small area of what's going on. Especially considering the numerous formats that pollution can occur in.
The only issue that I faced during this project was the weather. Due to my photos being taken outside the rain and cold didn't particularly help with allowing me to takeep my photos. Luckily there was a day in which it was sunny enough to photograph, although it did begin raining just before I finished up my project.

Work in the Media Industry
Job 1 - Dubbing Editor
I'm interested in this job as I like working with audio and it's a job which involves editing and recording different audio files.
The skill I already have is a basic knowledge of Adobe Audition, this allows me to edit audio to a certain extent.
In order to get this job, I would have to develop my skills in software such as Audition to be considered a candidate for the position.
Job 2 - Special Effects
I'm interested in special effects because it looks fun to work with and it pays well.
I don't currently have any skills in special effects, however, I am looking towards working with them later on in the course.
The skills I would need to develop would be on software such as Adobe After Effects which is has a plethora of effects available to test out.
Job 3 - Focus Puller
I'm interested in this job as I enjoy the filming aspect of media and would like to be involved in it as much as possible.
I'm already decent when it comes to working with cameras, however, I still need a lot of work.

Three Documentary Evaluation
One pro of expository documentaries is that you're able to freely ask questions that you want in order to provoke the answer you may be seeking. However, one con of this mode of documentary is that it was difficult to find people to interview.
A pro of observational documentaries is that it's very relaxed and the filmmaker doesn't have to give much input towards what goes on in front of the camera. A con of this style would be that because the filmmaker has little input and control over what's happening the footage may not be what you wanted the documentary to be and it may be difficult to work with in post.
One practical fault we came across was that the cameras weren't all on the same setting when filming the observational documentary and as a result, some of the footage looks different to the rest. However, we overcame this in post by using colour correction in premiere pro to change the colour grade of the footage.
The only ethical issue that arose for me was during my participatory documentary as I filmed my mum who is a teacher and there was a possibility that some sensitive information may be released.
Looking forward towards my final documentary, I want to work on the planning side of the filmmaking as it was quite poor for these tasks.

Final Documentary - Evaluation
My documentary is about the new choir that has been set up in the college called Young Legacys (YGL). I came up with the idea to do a documentary on YGL after my previous idea fell through and didn't work at all. I decided to do it on the choir because it is a new group that has been set up and it has a lot of potential. The group also needed to be filmed as it was for one of the music student's units and this was a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. This documentary is expository. In order for it to be this type of documentary we held interviews and added music in the background.
I feel like my filming skills have been developed while completing this task. I used a two camera set up for the interviews and I feel like the angles that we shot at were very good, although there was one issue that I would like to fix. The side camera had a different look to the shot even though I made sure that they were both on the same setting. So my only guess can be that the lighting messed with the shot causing it to look different to the second camera.
I managed my time well considering that my new idea only had 5 days to come to fruition. Within those 5 days I managed to find people to interview and sort out the time of the interviews and schedule when I was going to edit. Therefore, I believe my time management was very good. However, it was also quite poor considering that I had about 4 weeks to complete the project and for 3 and a half weeks I did nothing with my original idea.
I worked with a classmate to film the interviews we were both in charge of a camera each and planned everything together. In terms of working independently, I feel like my editing and interviewing skills really shone through as I was able to ask the questions in a way that would get an answer that made sense without needing the question for context and if anything went wrong I was able to edit it out without making the footage seem unnatural.
The main issue I had was the idea itself as I was unmotivated to complete the task so it was very easy to get past that by just changing my documentary topic. The other problem I faced was while editing. Every time I tried to add graphics to the timeline, the video would turn black and white, flip upside down and reverse and I couldn't figure out how to change it back after that had happened. So the only way for me to overcome this was to begin editing from the beginning again and create my own graphics using photoshop.
In my documentary, I think the things that went well were the interviews and the editing. The interviews were fun to film which made them easy to use in the editing software because I had multiple ideas and ways I could have edited the footage. However, I feel the way I edited it was the best out off all of the options. The only thing that could have gone better would be the quality of the second camera during the interviews. The colouring was off slightly to the main camera which makes it a little awkward when the angle switches from the main to the side. Although, apart from that, I feel like my documentary went great as it was based around something that no-one else has done and tested my editing skills.

Choir Documentary
This documentary is about the new choir that has been set up by Mael, a second year music student. It will focus on what it takes to start a choir and the process getting the project off the ground. The first choir session is going to be the main focus of the documentary alongside interviews with Mael himself about what he had to do to get this choir up and running. Mael is primarily a drummer so it may have been a challenge finding the people and resources to make the choir happen. We're going to see if the first session is a complete failure or success.
Questions:
Why did you decide to begin YGL?
What do you hope for YGL to achieve?
What's going to happen to YGL after you leave the college?
What was the process of setting up YGL? How long did it take?
Why did you want to start a gospel choir specifically?
_________________________________________________________________________
Why are you interested in music?
How long have you been playing and/or singing for?
Are you a band member or choir member? What instrument do you play OR what voice role do you play in the choir?
Why did you decide to join YGL?
What do you hope to get out of YGL? Experience, training, just for fun, etc?
What do you expect of yourself while you are a member of YGL?
What's the next step for you in music after YGL and your course?

Professional Practice - Reflection
I made my CV using google docs as they already have preset layouts for CVs and Resumés. I then filled out the document with my details and qualifications.
I made a CV like this because I believed it to be an effective format that would hopefully make me one of the top candidates for the job.
I wrote my cover letter using the requirement in the job description. I used this method as the employer would want the person they are employing to have the skills required meaning that if I claim to have them then I will have a better chance of being employed. I also used a cover letter template that was online. I used this template in order to make my cover letter more professional, considering that I have never written one before.
I made my website using Wix. I used the Wix AI which asked me questions on why I was making my website and how I wanted it. After this it gave me a template for a website that fit what I was looking for the best. I then added a section on the page for photographs and videos that I have taken, considering that I set the page up calling myself a 'Filmmaker and Photographer'. I also have a page on the site for bookings in case if someone is interested in the service I am providing. There's also a section for people to contact me if they're interested in what I have to offer.

Professional Website Case Study
Chris Turner - http://www.cjturner.com/
Ray Kay - http://www.raykay.com/
Chris Turner is a freelance filmmaker. The home page of his personal website showcases the various different projects that he's worked on in order to encourage someone to contact him for work. The way that the projects are spaced out makes it seem as he has done more work than he actually has, as some are listed more than once.
The next page on the website is a page about who Chris Turner is. This page is essentially a cover letter as to why people should choose him to film for them.
The final page on the website is for people to contact him if they are interested in getting him to work for them. This page includes his email and what I assume is a work phone number. Also, at the bottom of each page, Chris has five links to social media to further show his qualification for the job and for secondary contact if necessary.
Peter Pint - http://www.peterpint.com/
Peter Pint is a Music Video and Television Commercial Director. The home page of his website showcases the TV adverts that he's previously worked on.
The next page showcases all of the music videos that he's directed.
The final page of the website gives an overview of who Peter Pint is and what he does. There's a very small tab for contact details at the bottom of the page which brings you to his email.
Ray Kay is the most famous of the three I have chosen. His first page show a general overview of his work including his photography, music videos and television adverts.
This page shows the music videos that Ray Kay has directed. This includes some very famous work from Lady Gaga to Britney Spears.
The final page of his website is for people to contact him. Due to his success Ray Kay doesn't simply give out his phone number for people to message. He has an email system in place for business orders.

Photography Project - Planning
My chosen genre of photography is environmental photography. My theme is going to be about how dirty London is, especially Waltham Forest. As Waltham Forest is the borough of culture this year the bad parts of the borough are going to be left unseen by the public so I'm going to bring the environmental issue to light.
My target audience is going to be teenagers and young adults in the London as the issue is most pressing towards them, and if the issue is not handled soon then there could be no going back.
My layout is going to be an A1 print with a few A3.
My creative intention is to make people aware of the pollution that's being spread within Waltham Forest. Due to Waltham Forest being the borough of culture for 2019 there were a lot of aspects of the borough that were overlooked. The biggest one, in my opinion, being the pollution issue and through my project I wanted to spread awareness of the rubbish being left in our borough.

Daniel Walker
https://danielwalkerphoto.wordpress.com/2015/03/03/port-kembla-steel-works/
Daniel Walker is a wildlife and environmental photographer based in Australia.

This photo was taken at a steel works in Wollongong, Australia, showing the pollution caused by the large chimneys which are adding greenhouses gasses into the atmosphere. This photo has significance in terms of environmental photography as most people from outside of Australia think the country is a beautiful place with a lot of nature and wildlife. Although, nobody really thinks of the pollution that occurs there the same as other countries.

This is another photo taken by Daniel Walker. This photograph is taken from a collection called Menangle River Reserve. As the name suggests this area is a place for nature, however, there's still pollution. Although this time it's not atmospheric, instead being water pollution as someone has decided to dump a tire in the river.

This photo was taken by Saeed named 'End Floating'. This photo also won the 'Environmental Photographer of the Year 2018'. This photo shows the salty ice melting caused by climate change and global warming. The salt dust is then captured by the breeze in the air and can cause serious eye, skin and lung damage.

Final Documentary - Script
Jacob: TikTok… An app that has taken over the internet in 2018. This short
documentary is going to cover how and why the app became so popular, and some
theories about app’s creators intentions Tik Tok is a destination for
short-form mobile videos.
Jacob: TikTok was initially created in China in 2017 by the developing company
ByteDance. ByteDance are a well-known company in China who have created a
multitude of apps for the Chinese population. TikTok alone having 150
million daily active .
Jacob: In China TikTok is known as Douyin which roughly translates to ‘to make
fun of’. This raises the question of why the app was created in the first
place. Was this app created with the intention of creating another platform for
cyberbullying or in order to simply make a profit?
Vox Pops on people’s opinions on
TikTok
Jacob: Being an app that was created for a target audience of tweens and young
teenagers; TikTok has become a real issue when it comes to the safety of minors
on the app. Due to the app being free . We talked to a member of the TikTok
community in order to find out what it’s really like being on the app.

Final Documentary - Treatment
Our documentary is about the new popular app TikTok and why/how it's become so popular is the short amount of time it's been available to the public. The documentary is going to be expository in style and will have music, interviews and a voice-over. We aim to make the documentary around 5 minutes long. Our intended target audiences are people from the age range of around 13-18. We chose this age range because the app is targeted towards this age group and it makes sense to target a documentary towards the audience of the film's subject. We are hopefully going to interview someone who makes TikToks on the app itself; we also hope to get vox pops from some people out on the street about their opinions on the app. We plan to film in the college and around the local area just for cinematic shots as our main focus is on the app itself and you can't exactly record an app. We plan to film from the week beginning 14th of January, starting with the interviews.
