Professional Practice - Website

Professional Website Case Study

Chris Turner - http://www.cjturner.com/
Chris Turner is a freelance filmmaker. The home page of his personal website showcases the various different projects that he's worked on in order to encourage someone to contact him for work. The way that the projects are spaced out makes it seem as he has done more work than he actually has, as some are listed more than once.

The next page on the website is a page about who Chris Turner is. This page is essentially a cover letter as to why people should choose him to film for them.
The final page on the website is for people to contact him if they are interested in getting him to work for them. This page includes his email and what I assume is a work phone number. Also, at the bottom of each page, Chris has five links to social media to further show his qualification for the job and for secondary contact if necessary.

Peter Pint is a Music Video and Television Commercial Director. The home page of his website showcases the TV adverts that he's previously worked on.
The next page showcases all of the music videos that he's directed.
The final page of the website gives an overview of who Peter Pint is and what he does. There's a very small tab for contact details at the bottom of the page which brings you to his email.

Ray Kay - http://www.raykay.com/
Ray Kay is the most famous of the three I have chosen. His first page show a general overview of his work including his photography, music videos and television adverts.
This page shows the music videos that Ray Kay has directed. This includes some very famous work from Lady Gaga to Britney Spears.
The final page of his website is for people to contact him. Due to his success Ray Kay doesn't simply give out his phone number for people to message. He has an email system in place for business orders.

Photography Project - Planning

My chosen genre of photography is environmental photography. My theme is going to be about how dirty London is, especially Waltham Forest. As Waltham Forest is the borough of culture this year the bad parts of the borough are going to be left unseen by the public so I'm going to bring the environmental issue to light.

My target audience is going to be teenagers and young adults in the London as the issue is most pressing towards them, and if the issue is not handled soon then there could be no going back.

My layout is going to be an A1 print with a few A3.

My creative intention is to make people aware of the pollution that's being spread within Waltham Forest. Due to Waltham Forest being the borough of culture for 2019 there were a lot of aspects of the borough that were overlooked. The biggest one, in my opinion, being the pollution issue and through my project I wanted to spread awareness of the rubbish being left in our borough.

This photo was taken at a steel works in Wollongong, Australia, showing the pollution caused by the large chimneys which are adding greenhouses gasses into the atmosphere. This photo has significance in terms of environmental photography as most people from outside of Australia think the country is a beautiful place with a lot of nature and wildlife. Although, nobody really thinks of the pollution that occurs there the same as other countries.

This is another photo taken by Daniel Walker. This photograph is taken from a collection called Menangle River Reserve. As the name suggests this area is a place for nature, however, there's still pollution. Although this time it's not atmospheric, instead being water pollution as someone has decided to dump a tire in the river.

This photo was taken by Saeed named 'End Floating'. This photo also won the 'Environmental Photographer of the Year 2018'. This photo shows the salty ice melting caused by climate change and global warming. The salt dust is then captured by the breeze in the air and can cause serious eye, skin and lung damage.

Final Documentary - Script

Jacob: TikTok… An app that has taken over the internet in 2018. This short documentary is going to cover how and why the app became so popular, and some theories about app’s creators intentions Tik Tok is a destination for short-form mobile videos.

Jacob: TikTok was initially created in China in 2017 by the developing company ByteDance. ByteDance are a well-known company in China who have created a multitude of apps for the Chinese population. TikTok alone having 150 million daily active .

Jacob: In China TikTok is known as Douyin which roughly translates to ‘to make fun of’. This raises the question of why the app was created in the first place. Was this app created with the intention of creating another platform for cyberbullying or in order to simply make a profit?

Vox Pops on people’s opinions on TikTok

Jacob: Being an app that was created for a target audience of tweens and young teenagers; TikTok has become a real issue when it comes to the safety of minors on the app. Due to the app being free . Final Documentary - Treatment

Our documentary is about the new popular app TikTok and why/how it's become so popular is the short amount of time it's been available to the public. The documentary is going to be expository in style and will have music, interviews and a voice-over. We aim to make the documentary around 5 minutes long. Our intended target audiences are people from the age range of around 13-18. We chose this age range because the app is targeted towards this age group and it makes sense to target a documentary towards the audience of the film's subject. We are hopefully going to interview someone who makes TikToks on the app itself; we also hope to get vox pops from some people out on the street about their opinions on the app. We plan to film in the college and around the local area just for cinematic shots as our main focus is on the app itself and you can't exactly record an app. We plan to film from the week beginning 14th of January, starting with the interviews.
